Springtime equals park time

This past Monday we went to the park as a family, then on Friday we went again w/ Danielle.
On Monday it was a little cold but it was fun. We found a park that has a marry-go-round and these cool swings that looked like luxury, the thing is that it looked like they could fall out easy but they didn't, thank God. In Ca. marry-go-rounds aren't aloud at parks anymore. I was a little scared at first to put the girls on it but they really liked. All Charlie wanted to do was go on the swings or play ball. Alexa wanted to run around but she really liked the luxury swings too.

Anthony trying to show how fast he can go

Alexa always wants someone to catch her still, so Anthony and Charlie were doing it.

Then she wanted to catch Anthony but jumped back as soon as she saw him.

Charlie catching Alexa....supposedly.

Alexa at the top of the chains.

Charlie looking up at her

Charlie on a mission to the swings.

Now that's a swing.

Then On Friday the girls and I went w/ Danielle and her kids to a park by her house. We are such dork. We were trying to decide on the phone which park to go to and I was telling her about the we went to on Monday, which is in Agawam but I didn't know how to give her directions. Then she mentioned the one by her house. The she said just meet me at Light house which is her church in Agawam, but I thought she said meet me at my house. I know it doesn't seem like it would sound the same but it does. So I drove to her house and pulled up as she was finishing loading the kids. She was about to go to the church. we would of totally missed each other. but we didn't. So we ended up going to the one by her house and having a picnic too. When we first got there is was till a little cold, but it quickly warmed up to 65 degrees and was perfect for the park and a picnic. It was a lot of fun.

Yes, we are those people who like to take goofy pics.

I love these things so much fun. It was fun watching Charlie and Addison get on, neither one of them weighed enough for it to move so Danielle and I had to bounce it for them.

They pretended there was an ice cream shop. This is Alexa taking Issac's order.

Yummmmm, chocolate ice cream that taste like wood chip.

Picnic time.....Charlie eating chips

Alexa enjoying her peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich

Addison off taking a stroll by herself

Danielle trying to be sexy.....j/k we're just goofy.

I had pictures like Issac peeing in the middle of the field (must be nice being a boy), the kids running in the field, Alexa crying because she bunked heads w/ Issac and him not even effected, Alexa coming down the slide when Charlie was at the bottom and ended up kicking her right in the face and so on, but blogger decided to give me a hard time so I quit. If you check out the Calisch blog later they may have more pictures.

Cutting the Bangs

On Sunday mornings it can get a little rush, rush right before we leave to go to church, since the girl's hair is usually the last thing I do before we leave. On top of doing their hair, this morning I wanted to cut Alexa's bangs really quick, since she kept complaining they were in her eyes. I'm usually pretty picky on how short they can be. But I was in a hurry and just pulled them down and cut straight across. Which worked fine. When we got home, right away I tell Alexa take off your shoes and jacket and go to the bathroom. Which she did. I laid Charlie down and she was still in the bathroom. Finally when she came out Alexa asked Anthony to lay her down. As she was walking toward me I thought her bangs looked a little shorter than what I usually cut, but I also thought she looked cute w/ it a little shorter. So I said, "your bangs look cute." she said, " I cut them." I'm thinking 'no I cut them' but whatever. She gave me a kiss then looked me dead in the eyes and said, "you left the scissors on the floor and I cut my bangs" WHAT?! was the first thing that came to mind as I started moving her bangs around noticing they were totally uneven. I realized she did cut them, and I gave her a talk about not playing w/ scissors. We have been really trying to explain to her lately not to lie. So Anthony added that it was good that she told us and that made us happy. So we let it go but now I know not to leave the scissors out.

This is what I found on the counter after she went to bed.
Even though they are shorter then what we like, I have to remember they will grow back. She's starting to look like such a little girl, and people always think she's older than what she is, and w/ the shorter bangs I think she looks even older. So here's our pretty girl.

Magic Wings and More

Mondays have become our family day which has been really nice. I love it because we've set aside a whole day to be together. To actually play and go do things together. The girls really seem to enjoy it too. I'm looking forward to the summer time hopefully there will be a beach trip. anyway. This past Mon. we went to a place called Magic wings. All we really knew was that it was a butterfly museum, where butterflies fly all around and sometimes land on you. We thought Alexa would really enjoy this. When we got there, there was a gift shop, food, and in the museum there were other little animals. When you first walk in there's a room w/ frogs and bugs in glass cages. I didn't put the insect pictures up because they were really ugly and gross. When we went into the butterfly area, they were flying all around. It was hard to show how many there really were because they didn't really stop for a picture. To our surprise Alexa freaked out half the time we were in the butterfly area. Every time one would even come near her she would screech and fling her arms all around. Anthony and I both thought she would warm up eventually but she didn't. Oh well at least we went and tried. Charlie didn't really seem to care about the butterflies, but she liked looking at all the other animals. Mostly she just liked growling at the little baby quails walking around. Every time she saw one she would growl. So between Alexa freaking out and Charlies growling, I think we were the loudest people there.

Here's one of the frogs. Every time they would jump Alexa would jump to in fright thinking they were going to jump on her.

Baby quails that were in a case inside.

Alexa's favorite thing was these huge turtles every time she would freak out about the butterflies she would ask to go back and look at the turtles.

Bearded Lizard

I don't get it, Alexa wouldn't freak out about this ugly thing or when Anthony touched it but she did w/ the butterflies. The lady holding him kept giving him kisses on his lips....GROSS.

All the butterflies flying around, but you kinda have to look, all the spots are butterflies.

The whole time Anthony and I wanted a butterfly to land us or Charlie so we could take a picture. But there were these butterflies w/ really long legs, like a daddy long leg spider. Every time they came near us or Anthony looked at them he would get creeped out.

Alexa after freaking out, telling Charlie that they needed to get out of there.

One butterfly finally landed on Anthony so we stopped to take a picture, then 2 more came. I guess the the blue ones are the ones that usually land on people. I don't know why I just heard someone say that.

Little quails that Charlie had to stop and growl at.

The other thing Charlie loved was the fish. She pressed her face against the fence and wouldn't walk away. We had to pick her up and move her to get her to leave.

Oh yeah, when we first walked in the butterfly room there was on on the floor w/ a hurt wing. Anthony told someone and they picked up. When while we were walking around the guy that picked up the hurt butterfly stopped Anthony and showed him the same butterfly, he had fixed the wing by gluing on another wing and then it flew away.

Fun in the gift store

When we were walking out Alexa wanted ice cream, so we got some. I think that was probably her favorite part.

German Chocolate ice cream....YUMMY.

Alexa done w/ her ice cream, and wanting more.

Me pretending to share, I don't share ice cream.

This is how we do it. We give them ice cream then let them run around before getting back in the car and they take a nap.

After we left Magic Wings we heard there was the biggest tree in Ma. down the street and some really old buildings so we took a drive to go see.

This tree didn't seem any bigger than a normal tree, but they even had a plaque on a rock in front of it.

and some old buildings
A house

A church

Towns hall or something.

At one time, this was a restaruant
