Mama's Week

As you saw in my last post my mom, which the girls call Mama, came to visit for a week. The first couple days we just relaxed and the last few we had some adventures. We all had a really nice time while she was here. The girls really liked the time they get w/ their Mama.

On Monday we went to Six Flags, which I keep calling Magic Mountain and everyone looks at me like I'm insane, since they don't know what that is. Anyway. It was really fun. The Six Flags here is pretty small and the Huricane Harbor is part of it too. We only went on the kiddie rides and Anthony took Alexa on one water ride which she actually liked.

She had to stop, say hi and take a pic w/ every character there was.

Cheering Alexa on for going on the ride by herself

They had water spraying up from the ground like some of the parks around here have. They didnt shoot up very high so the girls were wiling to go in. The funny yet sad part was Charlie fell twice on her but trying to get out of the water.

I loved this. It was that thing where you hit it as hard as you can and usually you only get a prize if you hit the bell at the top, but this one was for kids. So it didn't matter how hard you hit it you still got a prize. Not a dumb one either, she got a cat on a leash, which Alexa was super stoked about.

History
This is kind of a long a weird story but here goes. My Grandpa grew up in Springfield and him and my Grandma have been friends w/ for over 50 yrs. and 2 summers ago my Grandpa brought my mom, aunt and uncle to Springfield and introduced them to Gene and her kids (her husband past away 4 yrs prior) Then my mom camed to visit us in Dec and I got to meet her and her daughter. This time we went and had a bbq at Susie's house (the daughter) and met Susie's husband, and grandson, who is almost 5yrs old xavier. It seems like old history listening to them talk about my grandparents many yrs ago, but it was nice getting to know them.
Side note the lil' boy Xavier is the cutest boy ever. He's 1/2 Portarican and 1/2 white. When we were leaving alexa asked him for a hug and kiss like she asks everyone, but he would only give her a hug. So we started teasing him that he liked Alexa. And then I thought how cute would their babies be. Total muts but they would have almost every ethnicity. anyway it was just a weird random thought.
Them playing in the pool. Once he stopped being shy they totally hit it off.

5 Mile pond.
I have been wanting to go to this pond but I wasn't to sure about it. All I knew is that you could swim, fish and boat in it. It really ended up being a cool place. They had a section for swimming next to a play ground and on the other side of the play ground was a bbq section. So we could just sit at the end of the pond area and see the girls at the play ground too.

The swimming section. Past the bobs is where you can boat and fish

Making "ice cream" again.

Charlie's turn

We had some difficulties w/ the bbq but literally once we gave up the coals lit up and everything was good from there.

The small side duck pond

Alexa took the rafts, (that we couldn't blow up) and put them by the water to "lay out" and Charlie just wanted to next to her.

Then decided to make mud. She kept taking water and walking 1/2 way back to us and would pour water out, for no reason, and if you look in the back ground you can see she even got Charlie to help.

Last night w/ Mama decided to soak up the picture time.

You know you're part of our family when your eyes look closed when you're smiling. It's weird both sides of our family have small eyes, and totally look closed when we smile.

We love you mom.

Road trip to California, California Pa. that is....

We had a really busy last couple days. We had 3 things to do that were all a distance from our house so we thought we'd just make a big road trip out of it, Starting w/ going to California, Pa. Our friends Angela and Remy, who we know from doing youth ministry at Revival together, visit Remy's family in Pa every yr. This visit Remy's brother was getting married. And we decided to go visit them since it was, what we thought was close to our house, but it ended up being an 81/2hr drive. We left Sunday right after church and got there around 8:30pm. Remy's parents have a little guess house next to their house and were nice enough to let us stay in it for the day we were there. With all driving the girls were really good in the car and the scenery was pretty plan, just a bunch of land and trees, pretty country looking.

The bridge we were about to go over, w/ NY on the left in the distance and going into Jersey.

NY way out there.

Ready for nap #2.

On Monday we decided to take all the kids to the Pittsburgh, Pa Zoo. We didn't really get to see Pitts, but we did get lost n the way. But we had fun there. It was a really nice Zoo.

Alexa was scared of the metal bug and didn't want to take a picture.

A baby and mommy Seal

There were all kinds of animals you could pet. Deer, kangaroo, snakes, bunnies, etc.

Alexa showing the lil' ones how to pet the deer

Alexa actually touched the snake.

Charlie was obessed w/ this snake, she couldn't stop staring at it. I think the snake liked Charlie too. It was really hard to pull her away frm the snake.

A huge tree w/ a slide in it.

Shiloh excited about the elephants

The elephants were Alexa's favorite part.
