Old Lyme Beach

Last Friday kinda last minute my friend Julie invited us to drive to Ct. and go to the beach. So we got ready really quick and drove an hour and a 1/2 to go to the beach. It was the perfect day to go. When we first got there it was still a little foggy but it cleared up fast and was around 70 or more degrees. This was my first time to the beach on the east coast so a couple things surprised me, how cold the water was ( seriously colder than any beach I've ever been to), there were no waves ( only at the shore line which were never higher than Alexa's mid calf) and the scenery around the beach ( it wasn't stuffed w/ a bunch of buildings or homes) and not too many people.
Julie has a 2 1/2 little boy, Aiden who Alexa loves playing w/. Who was so funny as soon as we decided where we were going to settle we look back and Aiden had stopped to play w/ a group of all (adult) boys. We got him to join us again. But he kept walking toward all the boys. Then this guy behind us and girlfriend started playing w/ the kids. It was really funny though Aiden wouldn't play w/ the girl at all. I think he was in need of a boy friend.
Anyway it was a great day sitting and relaxing at the beach. The girls loved being there and free to run around. Alexa even wanted to play in the water, but it was too cold for Charlie. I think the best part was that there wasn't a lot of distance between where we were sitting and the water, and since there were no waves, Alex could run to the water and the sand freely w/ no worries.

Our view to the left (that was how big the waves were)

Our view to the right

The waves looked big in the above pic but this is how high they were compared to Alex

Aiden saying, "Cheese" and being cute.

They all passed out on the way home.

18 months

I can not believe me baby is 18mo. it just truly shows that time is flying by WAY too fast. She seems to be growing and learning more everyday.

Charlie Kellee Wirth at 18mo
24 lbs and 31 inches
12 teeth
Still doesn't talk except mommy, daddy, Alex, mama, and up
loves playing w/ balls, being read to, coloring and hats
Alex is starting to get Charlie to play dress up w/ her
learning shapes and can point out different colors
can put shapes inside each other and puzzles
just starting to love the park and swings are probably her favorite.
Finds new things to climb and gets sneakier about it daily.
Still a very mellow kid and only is loud when she wants something.

Charlie, you truly are our baby bear

I love you

This was on her way to standing on the dresser, (which is a daily event)

When you're tired....

you'll sleep ANYWHERE. Charlie woke up early this morning and I tried to keep her up until her normal nap time to keep her on schedule, but to my surprise she wasn't waiting. She literally was standing up between our bed and couch and fell asleep. Well there goes that method.
