Summer Finally

So it's been really rainy here lately and the have been cooped up in the house for awhile now and Alexa has been asking to go to the park for a least a wk. So when I saw the sun shining on Sunday after church and I figured it was a perfect day to go to the park. During the colder months they turn off all the water fun at the park, so it was a nice surprise when we showed up and saw all the kids playing in the water. Last yr Charlie was still too small and afraid of the fountains. It took her a little while to even go touch the water but once she did, she was hard to get her out. They had a lot of fun. I'm really glad that I always carry extra clothes, because the girls were soaked. Before they could go to the park I had to change their clothes. So here's our first Summer fun.

Charlie watching Alexa

Alexa literally jumped right in.

Notice Charlie's still in the back ground

This boy gave Alexa a cup to put water in and the first thing she did once it was full......

was through it at Daddy

testing the waters

Anthony getting Alexa back for throwing all the water on him. She loved throwing the water but freaked out when Anthony picked her up.

Charlie's question face. "Is it ok???"

And it was all down hill from there

Me, in shorts (above my knees) for the first time since high school (@ least 10 yrs ago)

Multi tasking: talking on the phone and pushing both the girls

Hop scotch, what girl didn't love this as a kid.

Note to mom. notice Charlie's shirts? Those are 2 of the ones I was talking about.

SBC Family Retreat

We were invited to join SBC (Southern Baptist Con. ) at their family retreat. It was a 3day retreat w/ all the families in New England that are part of SBC. The third day they sent you to Six Flags for free. We weren't able to go to that but we still got the free tickets and will be enjoying them soon (hopefully). There weren't very many things to take pictures of, since we were indoors a lot. But we had a really nice time and learned things for church planting. It was perfect to get away before Anthony's busy week.

Our lil' cabin

Our way lil' room. We only had 2 tiny beds that Anthony and I couldn't even fit on together. But they did give us another mattress to lay on the floor, so Charlie and I slept on together.

A very tired, no nap Alexa

This was our walk between where the kids were and the seminars were.

And the walk to where the games, pool, and fire pit were.

There were a lot of guys there into soccer. So they had an indoor game. Anthony decided to play but didn't want to take the journey back to the room to get shorts.....poor guy had to play in pants.
We were upstairs watching the game.

The girls bored of watching Anthony and being silly

The pool there was indoor, but it was like a steam room in there so we watched everyone swimming from upstairs too.

I love her reflection

Late night family time w/ the Cheetos

Dinner time

Alexa's made a friend, Kiera, and they were inseparable

Her lil' brother, Xander

In the grass singing songs on the last day

Little Miss Charlie

Alexa being the teacher

The First of Many

We decided 8wks ago to start Alexa in Gymnastics. She really has started to love going. After 8wks they do a lil' ceremony thing where all the kids from certain ages and classes go on different days and show their families what they have learned. There were a lot of lil' kids running around and parents jamming together to take pictures but it was cute. W/ Alexa's group there were 2 teachers helping all the kids do their routines. I was really afraid she might get distracted or overwhelmed w/ all the people there, but she didn't. She did so good. there were times when she got confused where she was suppose to be or just wanted to be doing what another group was doing, but still performed like a natural.

All the kids waiting patiently for things to get started

Warm up/ Stretches

Hanging like a monkey

Spider hang

High beam

W/ a straddle jump ( she can jump so high and far. Even the teacher during class would set her higher limits)

Low beam......

To a front roll

This how they practice hand stands

This thing is so cool. To help w/ back bends and kick overs

Ms. Shannon, her actual teacher.

She was the only kid that could hold herself up long enough to swing out and come back to the teacher. She's a machine.....j/k.

At the end of all the performances they handed out these lil' trophies. It was really cute but a lil' sad because when they were handing out the trophies they were going in alphabet order, so Alexa having the last name Wirth was the 2ND to last kid to get an award. Every time someone from her class went up and then sat back down w/ one she would look so confused. But she was super excited when she got hers, that she didn't want to get down.

Congrat my big girl.
