Good Morning Massachusetts

This morning I woke up to this beautiful scenery of snow covering everything. I thought it was the coolest thing. As soon as Alexa woke I showed her and all she could say, "Can we go make snow cats?" What's a snow cat? I really don't know but when Charlie woke up she asked Charlie, "Do you want to make snow dogs?" What's w/ the animals. So I took pictures through our bedroom window, so that's why some are blurry. I was going to wait to take Alexa outside til Charlie took a nap, but as soon as I saw snow falling I put the girls jackets and boots on and went outside. Charlie seemed more cold than anything and couldn't really walk in the snow, because she kept getting balls of snow

on the bottom of her shoe and she couldn't balance. Alexa was just happy throwing snow at us and watching Ganghis run around. I tried to take a picture of the girls and the dog wanted to be

in the picture also. It was really cute. And all I wanted to do was take pictures of the snow falling but the snow was too light you can't really see it. I love the new things here, but I know in a couple months, I mean weeks I'll be tired of the snow, definitely when after we get a blizzard or snow storm. But for now I'm loving the couple of inches of snow on the ground. It was pretty cool also we saw this big truck carrying (what Anthony says) salt and he was spraying it all over the streets. And the snow melted within minutes. So hope you enjoy and try not to get jealous J/K.

An Accident Waiting to Happen

Ever since I posted the last blog of her climbing on the car seat to get food, she has decided to just climb on any and everything. She thinks this is how you play. I thought it was funny and wanted to share my slight terror w/ you. Note is only one wk. She climbs everyday on onto something.

Thanksgiving.....

I know I'm almost a week late. But it was really hard for me to decide to post a Thanksgiving blog. So here's my heart. I was away from my family for the first time this Thanksgiving. We spent Easter away from them but it seemed different. My family is usually the family that gets everyone together for the holidays and we usually have Thanksgiving at our house, so we can get Anthony and my family all together for once. So to be away from my family and spend a holiday w/ new friends and people we don't know was hard. It brought me to a new level of emotions. I love my family so much and I miss them dearly but I know that I'm here for Christ, for the right reason, and w/ no regrets but I really had to focus on all that we are Thankful for. So before I get to what I am Thankful for, let me tell you we did have a nice Thanksgiving it just was really different. Mostly we just hang around the house like any other day but dressed up the girls and took pictures of them, but they (like always) weren't in the mood. Scott and Anne (the people we live w/) invited some of their friends that didn't have places to go and Scott's sister, and we invited Danielle and her family (her mom had just moved to Tx. so they don't have much family around either). We ate dinner and tried to tame the 2 kids, but after dinner we decided it was bed time for them even though it was only 7:30pm. So we got the girls ready for bed then headed over to Danielle's house and the 4 of us, adults, played some games. Which made it feel a little more like Thanksgiving. The only thing missing was the football game. I FINALLY got through a Thanksgiving w/ no football.....that's something to be thankful for all in itself.

So let me tell you I found this verse that comforted me through the holiday and still is. 1Thess. 5:16-18. " Rejoice always, pray w/out ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." And it seemed very clear to me at church on Sat., after the pastor showed this video of all these poor people and people w/ nothing that were sick and uneducated and dying, that I should be Thankful that I am saved and all the things I do have. I will rejoice in God he has given me soo much, beyond my family and friends. We are far from rich but we do have a roof over our heads and food on our table, we are living on a missionary income but we don't have to worry about the little things . I don't have to worry if my children will die from starvation or won't be educated, etc. I love my life: I have beautiful healthy girls, a husband that loves me and more importantly loves Jesus. My God is an awesome God and he will provide and he does take care of us and to Him I will be Thankful. Today, tomorrow and always I will be Thankful that I have a better place awaiting me after this life and my children have parents that will do any and everything for the best of their well being. I hope I didn't bore you, but instead inspired you to look to things outside of materials and not to take the little things for granted (someone always has it worse).

When Mom is Busy....

The kids will play. This is dinner time at the Wirth house when I'm doing the dishes and the girls haven't finished yet. Anthony wanted to get a good video of Charlie for my blog. So even though they are suppose to be eating he thought it would be ok to get her to perform and entertain himself and them. But at least it's a cute video, thanks babe.

Game Night w/ the Calisch's

Today I thought I'd do something different. I know I'm usually the camera freak but I actually didn't pull it out. So I thought I'd just put a piece of me on here w/ out the pictures.
So last night we got invited to our friend's (Danielle and Adam) house for a game night w/ her brothers and their friends. When Anthony got out of church we headed over there. We didn't know anyone else there but everyone was really nice. The night went really well and we all seemed to be having fun. It made me feel like I was back in Ca. w/ all our friends. As most people know Anthony and I love playing games. No we are not dorks but it's always fun to get friends and family together and have some fun. We even brought coffee there, which is almost a necessity when your up late but came to find out they didn't have a coffee maker, but Anthony figured something out, like I said it's almost a necessity. Anyway. It was nice just to get out of the house and hang out w/ other adults. Having an adult conversation seems necessary every once in awhile when you spend most of your days talking to a 3 and 1 yr. old. there's only so many animal noises you can make and questions you can answer. But time did fly by and we stayed later than I thought considering we had our kids w/ us. Speaking of late and children, Alexa decided that sleep just wasn't for her last night either. Our friend Danielle has a 3 yr old also ( named Issac) who Alexa loves to play w/. But Issac was smart and went to bed a little after his bedtime. And after Issac went to bed I thought I'd put a movie on for her and hopefully she would fall asleep or get tired enough to go to bed. But she had different in tension. She only watch 1/2 the movie and then got a second wind. She said she still wanted to play. I think she really just wanted to be a part of what we were doing. So I attempted to put her to bed and she got out of bed 3 times w/ some excuse. Let me tell you by this time it was almost 11pm. and if you know Alexa then you know she was up WAY past her bedtime and WAY tired, which won't keep her from waking up at 6:30am the next day either. So then we decided knowing the lack of sleep she was going to get and after playing games, eating their food and letting my kid run around for 5 hrs. it was time to leave. Let me tell you Alexa did wake up at 6:30am but she took a 3 hr. nap, to catch up on that sleep. I guess that is all part of being a parent sacrificing your time. It is also why we don't get very many nights out w/ the friends. I'm always putting my kids needs before my own that is part of being a mom. And sometimes we all have to sacrifice our time. Alexa was very good girl, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to stay that long. So thank you Alexa for letting us stay out that late. And thank you Danielle and Adam for welcoming us into your house and making it feel like the good old days in Ca.
We are making Christian friends and really starting to love it here and feeling like it's home. I've now become that person that refers to where they grew as " back home" I wish it was warmer, I'm not going to lie, but I do the love the seasons or as Alexa would say " the naked trees (because they don't have leaves on them)" I'm just happy to be doing God's will for us and meeting new people and finally really making good friends.

Hungry baby

While cooking babyCharlie lunch and thinking she's playing w/ her toys I walk into find her on her future carseat (by the way she is too small to be in ) and reaching for her food that I had already put on her booster seat.


Alexa was never a climber, so I guess this is my warning to feed her sooner and to be aware that she likes to climb

Another Year...

As some may know my birthday was on Thurs. I am now a young woman j/k. I'm definitely climbing that latter way to fast if you ask me. It doesn't help that I'm married to a man that is a yr. and a half younger than me and keeps saying, "You are now in your late 20's." anyway. I really just wanted a day w/ my family. Of course Anthony had to work during the day. But when he got off I had the bright idea to go walk around my favorite park so far in Ma. (Forest Park). We lasted about 20 min then realized that it was WAY too cold. And if you know me, you know I DON"T like being cold. So this ended up being the coldest birthday I've had so far, since the temperature is now in the 30's. I think while we were there it may have even been in the 20's. The pictures are of my love ones because that's what I wanted on my birthday, not pictures of me.
But our camera seemed to be on strike too, the pics didn't come out very well.

We saw ice on the top of the pound thinking it was this really thin layer. So Anthony went over to show Alexa and break it w/ a stick, but ended up breaking the stick because the pound had a thinker layer of ice than we thought, it was already starting to freeze.

To end my birthday Anthony cooked me dinner my favorite pasta (raviolis to be exact). I definitely love having a husband that can cook and likes to on special days. plus doesn't care that I don't know how to cook. What else could I ask for. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful healthy girls. Thank you God. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ME!

Not Just a Candle

We have been hearing about Yankee Candle since we started going to play group. I know you're probably thinking you're just now hearing of those candles. No, I'm talking about this really cool place Yankee Candle has next to their factory in Deerfield, Ma. It's this huge store w/ multiple rooms w/ different things going on in each room. It's really hard to explain and I tried to take pictures but most of the places (that were interesting) had min able lighting. Half of the place is candles everywhere. There's a food court, a place to build a bear, two places to make a candle, Christmas decor (w/ the little Christmas city decorations everywhere..really cool), lots of ornaments, a toy room where you can play w/ all sorts of toys and see Santa (who is there all yr. long) etc. We couldn't really afford anything, but it was definitely fun just walking around looking at all the cool Christmas stuff and ideas.

So anyway we went today w/ our play group and had a lot of fun. Alexa really seemed to enjoy it even though it seems like more of a tourist site than a thing for a kid. And it was hard making her put all the toys that she wanted back on the selves, but she did good w/ it.

First thing we did was watch these guys that are not real play music and sing. Alexa kept asking, "Are they real?" She wouldn't believe me. They did look pretty real though.

Then we went candle dipping. We lined up all the kids let them pick their favorite candle. Then lined them along the table and gave them the rules and directions.
So what you do is pick a white candle then stand in front of the color table. Then you dip your candle in one of the color wax and then in cold water and there you have it.
